Case of the Wednesdays is composed of several wonderful women on their journey of creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We invite you to follow our journeys and share your own experiences!

[The name of the group comes from the group's founder who posted a "Weight Loss Wednesday" on her own personal blog. She had such an overwhelming response from her readers, she decided to create a larger network of women on the same journey and to have posts throughout the week.]

Jenn Week 3

Happy Super bowl Sunday!  I hope you all have a game plan that includes mostly healthy choices with maybe a tiny bit of indulgence.

In one word how do I feel about this week’s progress:  Content

High of the week: Overcoming my apprehension about taking Harrison to the gym on my own.  I don’t know why it had me worried but it did.  We went, he charmed the socks of off the ladies in the child care room and I got in an amazing workout.

Low of the week:  Tuesday!  It was a very emotional day as I waited for test results of a family member.   I unfortunately looked for partial comfort in food that day.  I thought I had overcome that darn little pit fall but looks like there is still some work to be done in that area.  I reached for those French fries like they were a life preserver! haha

Weight loss this week: .7 lb

Total weight loss since 1/20/13: 2 lb

Inches lost this month: N/A

Total inches lost since: 1/20/13 N/A

New exercises tried: Worked out at our local YMCA that I joined last week.  It is a great facility with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, sauna, steam room and rock wall.  With a spinning room, 2 group fitness rooms for classes such a Zumba and a full fitness center I think I will have plenty to keep me busy for quite some time.  I’ve always been a big box gym kind of girl and snubbed the Y’s a bit.  But with addition of our little man I wanted something our family could grow into.  I look forward to Harrison taking swim lessons in the coming months and him getting to know the awesome staff in the kids corner.  Which offer a free hour of child care each day so you can work out!  My local gym charges $6 for the hour.  If you have a YMCA by you and haven’t looked into them I highly recommend it!

Things that fueled me:  Smoothies!!
I am a smoothie fan for sure.  I love that I can just throw a bunch of fruits and veggies into the blender and get a delicious and healthy meal on the go.  I mostly have them for breakfast but on occasion I will blend one up for lunch when I know I’m going to be on the go and want to avoid the temptations of a fast food stop.  My challenge with smoothies is that I am allergic to bananas.  And it seems like EVERY smoothie recipe calls for them.  If you have any smoothie recipes that you love please share!  Just about everyone I make contains; spinach, flax seed and frozen berries.

And lastly I wanted to share this little piece of inspiration that I found on another blog.  Sometimes we can lose sight of the fact that a loss is a loss not matter how small it is.

  1. LOVE the inspirational quote! We can easily get discouraged by a 'measly' 1/2 pound, but that quote really puts it into perspective.

I like to use the following site to find smoothie and shake recipes. Many do call for bananas, but there are lots without them. http://designerwhey.com/recipes/
